The issues of mobility between the Algarve and Andalusia, in the south of Spain, are the subject that José Apolinário considers most important for the southern region of the country and that he would like to see discussed at the meeting between the governments of Portugal and Spain that takes place on November 4th.

“The continuation of the Mediterranean rail corridor to Faro makes perfect sense from a European point of view,” José Apolinário told the Lusa agency.

The construction of the new high-speed line has been defended by the regional authorities and the business community of the Algarve and Andalusia and the Portuguese Government has shown openness to talk about the issue, but on the side of the socialist executive, in Madrid, there has been little receptivity to address the matter.
