“To mark the baptism of “Sintra”, the Embraer 195 from Portugália with the registration CS-TAW, a symbolic ceremony was held in the village with the same name, at Sintra City Hall. Where the vice-president of the municipality, Bruno Parreira was offered a model of the aircraft, by the general director from Portugália, Mário Lobato de Faria”, indicated TAP in the information released.

The initiative to name the planes after national cities and localities came as a result of the “Abraçar Portugal” project, presented in 2017, on the occasion of the airline’s anniversary.

“Thus, TAP extends the Portugália fleet to new regions, named after the 18 districts and the two Portuguese autonomous regions, further promoting the country and its regions, their culture, gastronomy and heritage, strengthening the relationship with the populations of each of the district”, adds the airline.

Portugália flies under the TAP Express brand, on short and medium-haul flights, currently with a fleet of 19 aircrafts, including 12 Embraer 195s, with capacity for 118 passengers.
