Considering the management of water resources, the park has adopted solutions to recycle and reduce water consumption.

A new year

With the aim of always providing visitors with an increasingly safe and innovative experience, the water park is finalising the renovation of one of its most iconic slides, the Black Hole, which is scheduled to open in June.

According to feedback from visitors, the latest slides are undoubtedly the most popular, such as the Boomerang, a float ride with light effects and a surprising twist at full speed; followed by the Race, a timed race on six colourful tracks; and the Big Fall, the fastest “capsule trip” in the park, a unique experience in the South of Portugal.

Among the novelties which have been a huge success are the new areas reserved for groups between 4 and 10 people, with 15 Cabanas equipped with a fridge and safe, as well as water offers and exclusive discounts in the restaurants and store.

Besides the slides, the park also includes a massage center and fish spa, waterproof tattoos, six food outlets, a convenience store and a souvenir shop.

However, Slide & Slash will no longer feature the presence of animals in shows and photographs.

Promotions

In addition to the 10 percent discount on online purchases and at official sales posts, the park will launch its usual campaign for residents of the Algarve, which ends on June 30. On Children’s Day, June 1, a free entry will be offered when purchasing a Normal or Senior ticket.

Sustainable Development

Taking into consideration the challenges the Algarve region faces in terms of water scarcity, the Slide & Splash water park has prioritised the optimisation of water consumption, with two treatment plants, over a decade old.

One of the treatment plants recycles the water which is used for cleaning the filters to supply bathrooms and gardens, while the other recycles water through reverse osmosis, reusing it to fill swimming pools.

Another essential factor to minimise water consumption was the installation of flow reducers on taps for public use, washbasins and showers.

These measures allowed Slide & Splash to reduce water consumption form the public network by around 60 percent, meeting a global strategy of sustainable and renewable solutions, both in terms of water supply and energy production, as well as waste management, by adopting, for example, recyclable and reusable packaging.
