The islands in the Western and Central groups of the Azores are today under a yellow warning due to forecasts of “sometimes heavy precipitation”, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA).

According to a statement from IPMA, on the islands of the Western group (Corvo and Flores) the yellow warning came into force at 08:00 local time (09:00 in Lisbon) and extends until 17:00 local time (18:00 in Lisbon ).
On the islands of the Central group (Terceira, Pico, São Jorge, Graciosa and Faial) the warning is valid between 14:00 local time (15:00 in Lisbon) and 24:00 (01:00 on Tuesday in Lisbon) .
