Sporting qualified today for the third time for the quarter-finals of the Europa League in football, by beating Arsenal, Premier League leaders, by 5-3, in the penalty shoot-out, after 1-1 in the 120 minutes.

After the 2-2 draw in Alvalade, Xhaka, in the 19th minute, scored for the 'gunners' and Pedro Gonçalves, with a shot just ahead of midfield, in the 62nd minute, for the 'lions', who ended up with 10, for expulsion from Ugarte, at 118 minutes, but prevailed in the 'lottery', in which Adán stopped Martinelli's shot.

The 'leonine' formation, which had already been in the 'quarters' in 2011/12 and 2017/18, will find out on Friday which opponent, between Manchester United, Seville, Juventus, Roma, Bayer Leverkusen, Feyenoord and Union Saint-Gilloise.
